  14. Useful Websites 10 items
    1. Some websites have already been cited in the bibliographies, so there may be some repetition. If you are looking for objective, scholarly coverage be extremely careful with the web. The best sites, such as that run by LeicesterUniversity's Sir Norman Chester Centre for Football Research are outstanding, and all listed here are generally reliable. If you use others be sure to think carefully about their viewpoint and objectivity. However, given that some aspect of the web could make a good topic for an extended essay, on this module at least you may be equally interested in websites because of their very lack of objectivity and quirkiness.

    2. SIR NORMAN CHESTER CENTRE FOR FOOTBALL RESEARCH

Document  This is the site for one of the fact sheets from the Sir Norman Chester Centre at the University of Leicester. The Centre provides you with an excellent set of fact sheets on hooliganism (1); black players and racism (4 & 6); women (5 & 9); fan power (7); TV (8) and the ‘new economics of football’ (10).

    1. Probably the most useful destination outside of Preston is Manchester Central Reference Library, St. Peter's Square (300 yards from Oxford Road Station). This holds a full microfilm collection of virtually all the national newspapers from their starting points and is the best collection of its type outside of London. It also has the Athletic News from 1893-1930, another rarity, and a good collection of 1960s and 1970s autobiographies (access via the Music and Art Library).
