  1. In this list, you'll find some general reading on placements as well as some material relevant to particular settings.  There are a handful of texts on the module handbook reading list that do not appear to be still available in the library.  However, they are all relatively old and so I have tried to find more recent things (this is particularly important for teaching, where so much has changed even in the last few years).  I have also added new reading relevant to particular students' placements (e.g. tourism), and will continue to do so as the year progresses.

I have listed e-resources where these are available (there is usually a hard copy too).  As your deadlines are determined by the timing of your placement, there shouldn't be any logjams for the hard copy-only texts, but please try to use and return these in a timely way just in case.

Please don't treat this list as definitive for your final essay.  Read widely among relevant literature, following the trails in footnotes and bibliographies and using databases such as JSTOR to locate your material.

Any issues with specific areas of reading, let me know.
